In honor of their one year anniversary last weekend (actually .25 anniversary??) I wanted to share some of my favorite moments from Andrew & Katri’s special day. I had never done a leap year wedding before and it was such a unique and fun experience. As someone I know said the other day, it gives you an excuse to throw a huge party every four years and I just love that!

Andrew and Katri wanted their wedding to be all about taking it slow, enjoying each other, & the finer moments. They started out the day with a religious ceremony in the LDS temple. The morning sky was wonderfully clear and blue, and the contrast against the temple made for the most beautiful backdrop! After spending some time taking pictures and savoring the moment, Andrew and Katri made their way on over to The Amavi venue for a traditional ceremony and reception. While staff was finishing up in the main areas, they spent this time writing in their journals about their morning so they could really look back and understand exactly how they were feeling during the special ceremony.

Katri walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “At last I see the light” from Tangled (I know, so cute right?!). For the flowers and bridesmaid dresses, she chose a variety of bright, spring colors that perfectly reflected her fun and vibrant personality. It really was the perfect spring ceremony! They shared the sweetest vows that had more than one person all choked up. Afterwards, it was finally party time and they invited all their friends, family, and familiars to come and celebrate. It was an epic dance party! They whipped out the Hey Dudes and shared a fun first dance together, pulling out all the moves for some picture perfect moments.

As the night came to a close, Katri and Andrew wanted their grand exit to be something memorable and unique. On their first date, they went sledding in trash bags down a hill in their college town so they wanted to do something significant to that. They chose a giant inflatable slide, bubbles, and of course trash bags! It really was unlike any exit I had seen before and it was so fun.

This spring, leap year wedding day was absolutely perfect and enjoyable for so many reasons and I truly enjoyed being a part of it. This is your sign to do a colorful spring wedding too!
